ProMusica Arizona Chorale & Orchestra launched its 10th season with America the Beautiful – Heritage and Heroes. The concert featured a collection of American favorites including lively folk songs, spirituals, ballads, American poetry put to music, and patriotic songs. The orchestra performed works by American composers including “Fanfare to the Common Man” by Aaron Copeland and “Olympic Fanfare and Theme” and “Hymn to the Fallen” by John Williams. The Northwest Valley Firefighters Honor Guard participated in both performances.

The performance on Saturday evening, November 3rd, was at Boulder Creek High School Performing Arts Center in Anthem.  The Sunday afternoon performance on November 4th was at Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley, a venue known for some of the best acoustics in the entire Southwest.  The audiences at both performances gave the PMAZ Chorale & Orchestra a rousing standing ovation.  Particularly moving was the tribute to the Armed Forces. As the songs from the five branches of the military were sung, audience members who served in those branches stood to be recognized.
